On May 16, a ceremony honoring nurses of the Belarusian Red Cross took place

On May 16, 2023, the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted a ceremony honoring nurses of the Belarusian Red Cross, as well as holders of the Florence Nightingale Medal

As part of the celebration of International Nurses Day in Minsk, on May 16, the Belarusian Red Cross is organizing a ceremony honoring nurses of the Dapamoga medical and social service in the Central Botanical Garden.

Holders of the Florence Nightingale Medal from Belarus are also invited to the ceremony. Established in 1912 by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the award is given to nurses and brothers for exceptional dedication to their work and bravery in providing assistance to the wounded and sick in both war and peacetime.

In our country, 14 nurses have been awarded medals in honor of the British nurse Florence Nightingale. In their honor, 14 hydrangeas will be planted in the Eastern Garden of the Central Botanical Garden. The plants are unique in that they can be combined with any flowers. This is one of the important features of a nurse's work - to find an approach to the most difficult patient.

A berry apple tree will be planted as a symbol of the Red Cross medical and social service "Dapamoga", which has existed under various names for almost 60 years. Today, this service unites 225 nurses and junior nurses throughout the country, who provide medical care and social services at home on a permanent basis to lonely and lonely elderly people and people with disabilities.
