Science Festival!

September 7, 2024 from 11:00 to 19:00, the main popular science event of the country, the Science Festival, will be held in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Thematic areas, lectures from famous scientists, exhibitions of achievements from various fields of science, interactive scientific experiments and master classes for visitors of all ages and interests will be organized.

The main areas this year will be: "Space", "Medicine", "Intelligent Technologies", "Ecology", "Taste of Science" and "Laboratory".

The "Space" area will interest space lovers with its lecture program: a series of lectures on space objects, their exploration, telescopes and satellites. Also here everyone will be able to discover the engineer in themselves and assemble their own space satellite.

At the "Medicine" platform, we will talk about dentistry, oncology, blood diseases, the creation of vaccines and drugs. The guest of honor of the lecture platform will be the famous science journalist and medical blogger Alexey Vodovozov, who will talk about the possibilities of prolonging life and longevity.

As part of the "Intelligent Technologies" platform, visitors will learn about advanced technical and robotic developments in Belarus and the world. Robotics schools and technical universities will talk about their educational programs. Also at this platform you can learn about the future of alternative energy and electric transport

The "Ecology" platform will provide an opportunity to better understand the issues of waste sorting and recycling, water and air purification, and ultraviolet radiation. We will learn more about the nature of Belarus and such distant territories as the Arctic and Antarctic.

This year, the festival participants will delight visitors with fascinating experiments, scientific shows and spectacular experiences - all this is in the program of the "Laboratory" platform.

You can find out what path food products go through before appearing on the shelves and taste new edible developments at the "Taste of Science" platform.

As part of the Science Festival, an exhibition-competition "100 Innovations of Young Scientists" will be held, where relevant developments of young scientists in six areas will be presented. During the event, the commission will determine and award the most promising projects.

At the ATOM TEAM platform organized by the Institute of Nuclear Research in Minsk with the support of the engineering division of the State Corporation "Rosatom", you can learn about breakthrough research and developments in the field of using peaceful nuclear energy. At the end of the day, the famous astronomer and popularizer of science Vladimir Surdin will talk about how the development of nuclear technologies will help humanity in space exploration.

The event will be attended by representatives from the Russian Federation, the scientific and educational center "Zapovednoye Posledstvo" of the Zaryadye Park with an independent site, as well as more than 20 participants within the framework of the All-Russian festival SCIENCE 0+ with ten thematic blocks and a popular science lecture hall. The site of the All-Russian festival SCIENCE 0+ will tell about the adventures of Schrödinger's cat, who ended up on another planet and uses his knowledge to get out. At the end of the program, a large scientific show will be held at the site.

The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus will introduce visitors to the achievements of university science and new specialties at the "University of the Future" site, where more than 20 leading educational institutions of the country will be gathered.

Each year, the event organizers put together a unique and diverse program that is not repeated. This year, the Science Festival will feature a new platform dedicated to the culture and traditions of Belarusians. The Ethnography platform will tell about the national cuisine, traditional costumes and crafts of Belarusians, as well as the wedding and funeral rites of our ancestors. Guests of the Festival will enjoy fascinating master classes on making straw "spaws", "nabivanki" and "malyavanki", "vytinanki", as well as traditional hand weaving.
