08.09.2018 - 08.09.2018 For the first time, the Science Festival will be held in the Central Botanical Garden, it will be held under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences. On the eve of the 90th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences, employees of scientific academic institutes organized an interesting, educational event for visitors of different ages, including the youth of Belarus, in the format of a city Festival. The event will include: many interesting lectures, master classes for every taste, robots, three science museums, a space zone with real astronauts, a show with experiments on stage, an archeology zone and a special zone for children - this is all about the Science Festival, but this is not all that will be presented there. On the landscape of the botanical garden, among the fragrant flowers of decorative collections, festival zones are organized, designed for visitors of various interests. Thus, the lecture zone of the festival will feature lectures popular in Minsk: "Science Beyond Itself", "Massaraksh", "15x4", "TEDxYOUTH", each of them will present its own block of popular science lectures. In the space zone, in addition to space exhibits, speeches by astronomers and bloggers, there will be a meeting with astronauts. The astronauts will talk about their stay on the ISS, their impressions of the airless space and answer questions from guests during a press conference. Four robotics schools will take part in the robot zone with master classes and demonstrations, the organizers of the VI Minsk Open Robot Tournament will hold mini-sumo and line racing competitions. A special place in the program is occupied by the entertainment zone, three science museums will take part in it - "Experimentus", "Quantum", "Elemento", the "Smart Minsk" project and the Physics Department of BSU. The participants will demonstrate exhibits, show spectacular experiments on stage and conduct a large number of master classes. In the archeology zone, everyone will be able to try themselves in the role of an archaeologist, for this purpose several excavation sites will be organized there, as well as an exhibition of archaeological artifacts. The Atomic Energy Information Center, the Central Scientific Library and the Belarusian Agricultural Library will present their zones with a rich program, and the Festival will also feature a children's zone from the "Little Party" project and a food zone.
