12.04.2024 - 14.04.2024 On April 12, 13 and 14, the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will host the Cactus and Succulent Exhibition "CACTUS MANIA" for the FIRST TIME! In April, not only primroses bloom on forest edges, but also this is the time of flowering of desert plants and arid places of our planet - cacti and succulents. In nature, these plants survive under the scorching sun on stones and can do without water for a long time. The exhibition will feature more than 1,000 exhibits of cacti and succulents, among which visitors will see some of the rarest and most ancient species, inhabitants of extreme rocky mountainous regions, and even those that remain in nature in single copies. The exhibition will feature famous Belarusian collectors - Alexander Slutsky, Alexander Kokarev, Andrey Tymul, Yulia Dalidovich. Visitors will be able to talk to collectors, get acquainted with the exhibits and learn the nuances of growing cacti at home. The exhibition will be interesting for both experienced and novice cactus lovers. These days, from 12:00 to 17:00, the doors to the closed collection fund of the Central Botanical Garden will open! Visitors will have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with our collection of cacti and succulents, which has more than 900 specimens. The presented variety of species, forms and varieties will not leave anyone indifferent! As part of the exhibition, only on April 13 and 14 from 11:00 to 12:00, a thematic workshop for children on replanting cacti will be held, where young nature lovers will be taught how to properly grow these interesting plants!
