05.04.2024 - 07.04.2024 On April 5, 6, 7, the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus invites you to a training workshop on dyeing fabrics with dyes from plants. We all know very well that plants have different properties, but there are those that also contain dyes. Natural pigments of plant origin are found in fruits, roots, and bark of plants. Natural dyes have been known since ancient times, but today they are rarely used and have been replaced by synthetic ones. At the workshop you will learn: the pros and cons of natural and synthetic dyes; from which plants can natural dyes be obtained; which brands support natural dyeing in the creation of clothes. At the workshop you will be able to: dye fabric with natural dyes; master shibori and tie-dye techniques; take the finished work home.
