Cultural and educational event "Lilac Dreams"

The Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus invites Minsk residents and guests of the capital to visit the flowering of the decorative lilac collection as part of the Lilac Week from May 12 to May 20, 2018. The culmination of the holiday: the cultural and educational event "Lilac Dreams" on May 19, 2018 from 13.00 to 16.00.

The famous lilac garden, or syringarium, has more than 250 varieties, including more than 16 varieties of its own selection. Lilac is a symbol of spring and the awakening of all the most beautiful in the world. Its magical aroma festively fills the garden with a wonderful fragrance, bestows upon visitors irrepressible beauty, envelops them in lilac dreams and makes us all experience only positive emotions! You can admire and appreciate the wonderful beauty of lilacs, learn the art of growing varietal lilacs, with the help of advice and consultations from leading specialists of the botanical garden, as part of the lilac week. The long-awaited lilac week will be held in the botanical garden from May 12 to 20. All week, every day except Monday, from 13:00 to 14:00, visitors will have interesting meetings with the botanical garden's scientific staff and excursions around the syringarium. But the most interesting and eventful event of the week will take place on May 19, in the format of the cultural and educational event "Lilac Dreams". Only on this day, the curator of the lilac collection, candidate of biological sciences N.V. Makedonskaya will hold educational talks with visitors in the lilac garden, tell about the diversity and differences in the structure of flowers, the time and duration of lilac flowering, the shape and size of bushes and leaves. Natalia Viktorovna will tell how to make the right choice in purchasing lilac seedlings for your plot. Master class "Delicate image of lilac, or how to do makeup for a romantic evening." Experienced makeup artist Olga Gribova will interest many visitors to the garden. Such questions as: "makeup for a date without the help of a stylist", "how and why color is of the utmost importance", "what products will help you be beautiful" - will interest everyone. There will be a fashion show of models with lilac accessories from professional florists. Visitors will enjoy the artistic plein air "Lilac and Dreams", photo zones with living sculptures in the lilac garden, the sale of lilac seedlings in the botanical garden store and other highlights. For the Lilac Festival on May 19, we offer an original and festive jazz program performed by the MuzzicDom Jazz Band and featuring the bright and charismatic singer Anton Martynov.
