"The World of Crystals" and "Extraordinary Maslenitsa!"

The State Scientific Institution "Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" invites Minsk residents and guests of the capital on February 17 from 13.00-17.00 to the cultural and educational events of the IV Ice Sculpture Festival "World of Crystals" and "Extraordinary Maslenitsa!"

Winter is coming to an end and all nature is waiting for the arrival of spring. The arrival of spring is a joyful event that must be celebrated. In the modern public consciousness, this holiday is primarily associated with seeing off winter and welcoming spring. The Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus never ceases to amaze its visitors. Only in the botanical garden do extraordinary events take place! Despite the vagaries of the weather, the botanical garden invites you to the most winter festival, which fell on the celebration of Maslenitsa - the IV Ice Sculpture Festival "World of Crystals"! You can see and appreciate the work of the best professional sculpture masters, who repeatedly take part in international festivals, in the botanical garden from February 15. The festival will open on February 17th at 1:00 p.m., the day of seeing off winter, and will then function as an ice sculpture exhibition. At the same time, supporting the original folk tradition, we invite everyone to celebrate the cheerful Maslenitsa and visit the botanical garden with the whole family! The fun interactive holiday program will begin with a theatrical procession, accompanied by all the colorful characters of the holiday and Maslenitsa itself. Visitors will enjoy a varied program with songs, jokes, Belarusian dances, competitions and winter games. Ethnic folk-modern ensemble "Nagual", Theater "Zhart", Theater-show V. Kustov, "Blinny Marathon", "Molodetskie Zabavy", Mobile theater "Vesely Balagan" and Theater "Batleyka", fortune telling on the betrothed, horse and pony riding - it will be fun and interesting for children and adults! And, of course, without treats! You can try unique buckwheat pancakes, pancakes with caviar and honey, mulled wine and hot tea! The culmination of the holiday will be an unforgettable fire show, a traditional fist fight in the form of Dombai boxing and the burning of an effigy of winter, which personifies all the worst and darkest.
