Zero Exposure!

05.09.2023 - 30.09.2023

On the picturesque landscape of the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in the garden of beautifully flowering and ornamental foliage plants, unique artistic mirrors of the "Zero Exposure" are located.

In this case, "zero" is not emptiness. It is a metaphorical symbol of reducing the negative impact on the environment and society. The interactive open-air exhibition was created by the Alivaria company together with the Belarusian artist Vasily Zenko.

The exhibition consists of six mirrors that symbolize six important environmental and social issues related to water use, soil and atmospheric pollution, waste disposal, irresponsible alcohol consumption and non-compliance with safety rules.

Each exhibit is not a faceless object. Thanks to the properties of the mirror, an effect of interactivity is created with the viewer, who becomes not just an observer, but a direct participant in the project. Therefore, each exhibit will change depending on who interacts with the art object. QR codes will help to understand the whole essence of the exhibition.

– Contemporary art can take different forms, but the main thing is always the essence of the image and what is happening. The exhibition of mirrors "Zero Exposure" is exactly about what everyone should see: around and in themselves. I hope that viewers will not remain indifferent - this is the key task of the art object, - notes the chairman of the monumental section of the Belarusian Union of Artists, the author of inclusive projects Vasily Zenko.
