The Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus opens its doors to a closed collection fund!

Only from December 8 to 17, you can travel to the country of Palmaria and walk among the majestic palms housed in an old building from 1959.

The country of Palmaria is home to about 20 inhabitants, and each one has its own history and value. Rattan and dwarf date palms, sugar and wine palms, Californian fan palms and others live here. Strelitzia Nikolai and red African tree have also found a home in Palmaria.

The palm tree is a legendary plant. The peoples of many countries worshiped palm trees, considering them sacred plants. In ancient times, palm trees were symbolic plants in different countries, personifying peace and abundance, victory and military success.

At present, palms are widely used as ornamental, medicinal, food and technical plants. They are used in floristry, gift wrapping, making handbags and shoes.

These days, other tropical and subtropical plants will also be visiting the country of Palmaria. You will be able to get to know each of them. You will learn where they came from and what useful properties they have. There will also be guests who need to be treated with care and even caution.

You can visit the country of Palmariaevery day from 11:00 to 16:00 (except Monday).

Cost of visiting the botanical garden and Palmaria:

Full – 12 rubles. (for all categories of citizens);

Concessionary – 6 rubles. (for children from 7 years old, college students, full-time students (except for postgraduate and master's students), pensioners, parents of large families).

Free admission for children up to 6 years old inclusive, children from large families, orphans, and disabled people of all groups.
