21.05.2021 - 28.05.2021 The event that Minsk residents and guests of the capital are eagerly awaiting can only be seen in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus - this is the blooming Lilac Garden, or - Syringarium, this term is used by the scientists of the botanical garden. The date May 18 - is considered the International Day of Lilac Blooming. The whole world, where there is a habitat for these magnificent plants, celebrates the peak of their blooming. In May, during the lilac blooming period, Syringarium becomes the most colorful and attractive exposition for visitors to the botanical garden. Syringarium is one of the largest collections - the genus Lilac. Now in Syringarium the best varieties of domestic and foreign selection are presented, differing in color, structure, size of flowers and inflorescences, timing and duration of flowering. Lilac is also a special energy. Lilac bushes sterilize the air within a radius of 20 km, have medicinal properties, maintain our health and positive mood. The botanical garden presents over 200 varieties of common lilac. The collection includes varieties of breeders from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and other countries. The collection of the Central Botanical Garden includes 23 varieties of selection from different regions of the world, but the basis of the collection is made up of classic varieties of French selection, created by the Lemoine company. You can admire and appreciate the wonderful beauty of lilac, enjoy its aroma, discern and understand the difference in varieties by visiting the botanical garden as part of the Lilac Week. This year, traditional excursions to Siringaria, meetings with the scientific staff of the botanical garden - PhD Natalia Viktorovna Makedonskaya and PhD Igor Mikhailovich Garanovich, will be held as part of the lilac blossom week, daily (except Monday), from 12:00 to 14:00. The opening of the lilac week will be marked by the cultural and educational event "Variations on the Theme of Lilac", which will take place on May 22, 2021 from 12:00 to 21:00. As part of the lilac week, for the first time in the botanical garden, a creative event will be held dedicated to flowering as a period of plant life associated with different emotions of the human soul. Two masters: ebru (drawing on water) and calligraphy will teach the participants of the event how to draw flowers using their techniques. At the end of each day, on 22.05 at 18.00-20.00 and 23.05 at 18.00-20.00, guests of the botanical garden are invited to visit the exhibition of works by the participants of the master class and teachers, as well as learn some details about these arts. The impromptu exhibition will be located on the island. An impromptu exhibition will be located on the island. 19.00 – 21.00 – a concert program of the best numbers of the Youth Variety Theater "Fioritura/Blossoming". Lilac can be compared to music: its aroma also fills our hearts and remains in us with a pleasant aftertaste for a long time. The Variety Theater invites you to plunge into the world of raging aromas and colors of music, spring and lilac. The best works of classical and modern operas and musicals, the most touching songs about love, spring and flowers performed by leading artists of the Belarusian stage will sound from the stage.
