The Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces the blooming of the most beautiful decorative collection of the botanical garden - the peony collection. At the beginning of summer, the peony aroma fills our gardens. All year long, we wait for the appearance of these luxurious, lush and truly magnificent flowers. The peony collection of the botanical garden has more than sixty years of history. Today, it has about 320 varieties and is represented by varieties bred in different countries: Russia, Ukraine, France, America. The duration of the peony bloom depends on weather conditions and can last until the end of June 2020. You can appreciate the beauty of the diversity of peonies not only in the landscape of the botanical garden, but also by visiting the exhibition "Garden of Elegant Fragrances", where you can enjoy the diversity of peonies embodied in picturesque images made in the technique of Japanese painting Sumie. The exhibition presents the works of non-professional artists, but they are united by a love for Japanese painting, inspiration from the beautiful, and, of course, the charm of this amazing flower. The exhibition is organized by the Central Botanical Garden together with the Public Association of Eastern Culture and Traditions "Hagakure". It will be held from June 16 in the botanical garden. As part of the days of the collection's bloom, a family interactive walk "Magic of Peonies" is organized - this is, first of all, an acquaintance with the collection of peonies, as well as a promenade through the corners of the most beautiful landscape of the capital, along thematic educational routes for children and adults. During the walk, participants receive exciting tasks designed as a special map of the botanical garden. The map shows the places where peonies bloom, additional information about the plants and art objects of the botanical garden, as well as interactive tasks for the whole family. For the safety and health of visitors, and taking into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, during the events, tasks are completed remotely, using smartphones. For a more comfortable completion of tasks, the routes do not intersect.
