"The Magic of Kupala Herbs"

08.07.2017 - 08.07.2017
In the Central Botanical Garden, in the most beautiful, mysterious and favorite corner of the garden for visitors - on the lake complex on July 8, 2017, a folklore and ritual festive evening "Magic of Kupala Herbs" will be held. The Botanical Garden is one of the most wonderful places in the capital for holding this folk festival dedicated to love, nature, mother earth and other elements. A beautiful island of the lake complex, decorated with magnificent sculptures that personify the three elements: water, fire and earth, a rich collection of various plants and herbs, unusual air saturated with pine phytoncides, wonderful actors and folklore ensembles - will leave you with many unforgettable, positive impressions! The main characters of the Kupala evening - Kupalinka and Kupalesh, the folklore ensemble "Shchodritsa" will set everyone in a positive mood. Belarusian songs, a cheerful "polka", jumping with mermaids through pokers, "divination" on wreaths, symbolic "herbal gates" through which it is necessary to pass in order to become strong and happy - will bring the guests of the evening closer to the ancient rituals and Kupala beliefs! The culmination of the evening is a spark fire show, a bonfire, and a procession to it with all the characters of the holiday and the "Kupala wheel" - a symbol personifying the sun. The holiday is filled with music, folk games, jokes and fun. Everyone will be able to participate in master classes: weave a wreath, make a "Kupala flower", visit herbalists and learn a lot of interesting things about the power of herbs, tell fortunes on wreaths on the lake, refresh themselves with traditional Kupala food - "yaeshnya with pancakes" and, of course, taste tea from the botanical garden, brewed with medicinal spicy and aromatic herbs. After all, on Kupala, many herbs and plants acquire healing and magical powers. Therefore, at 17.30, professional guides of the botanical garden will conduct an exclusive tour of the collection of herbs "with magical and healing powers". All of the above and much more will delight Minsk residents and guests of the capital in the Botanical Garden on July 8 from 17.30 to 21.30. The very atmosphere and nature of the botanical garden indicate the deep meaning of Kupala, which was laid down by our ancestors - respect and unity with nature, veneration of its fertility, beauty and highest prosperity. We invite everyone to relax on a Kupala evening in the fabulous landscape of the botanical garden!
